Explore History at China’s Great Wall & Beyond

See China’s most iconic landmark & visit Summer Palace — the largest & most well-preserved royal park in the country. Plus, indulge in a royal-inspired feast, enjoy sightseeing at Beijing Olympic Park & much more! Book by August 27.

About Your Trip

Prepare to be wowed as you delve into the intriguing history and culture of Beijing — and beyond. Your first full-day tour takes you out of the city to Badaling Great Wall, an original section of the Great Wall of China that’s remarkably well-preserved. From there, head to Yandaixie Street, an ancient street that houses a museum dedicated to the Chinese Imperial Post. At the museum, you’ll be given a small postcard with an imitation Qing dynasty-era stamp to keep as a memento — or, use it to mail to “the future.” Your last stop before dinner is Wangfujing Street, a shopper’s paradise with hundreds of stores and boutiques, food stalls and night markets.

You’ll be treated like nobility the next day with royalty-inspired experiences. But first, check out UNESCO-protected Temple of Heaven. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, emperors made sacrifices upon the temple’s altars to try to ensure bountiful harvests. Then, at the site of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, stop in front of Beijing National Aquatics Center (Water Cube) and National Stadium (Bird’s Nest) for photos. Continue to the Yiheyuan (Summer Palace), a regal estate composed of lush gardens, ancient temples, vast lakes and more. Finally, at Chinese Royal Gastronomy Museum, you’ll marvel at exhibits on royal food culture throughout various dynasties, dress in colorful costumes from times gone by, and sit in a Chinese dragon chair. Your day ends with a royal feast featuring a cultural performance, games and karaoke.

In your leisure time, be sure to take advantage of included discounts at the hotel to treat yourself to some spa time and delectable meals!
